Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Zip Line?

Zip lining dates back to the 1800’s as a form of transportation through the forest canopy. A zip line is fixed cable suspended between two poles or trees. Riders use a trolley to ride the zip line from one side to the other.

What are your hours?

We are open 6 days a week by reservation only.  We are closed on Mondays.  Our full schedule and time slots are available under our Reserve Now feature.

WHere are you located?

We are located in Brookville, IN just a quarter mile off of Main St.  We are directly across the street from Whitewater Canoe Rental and Pizza King.  Click here for directions.

How long is your tour?

Our Skyline tours last between 2 to 2.5 hours from start to finish, depending on size of group and/or weather conditions. This includes harnessing, training, zip lining and debriefing.  For Defy Gravity, tour times will be under 1 hour depending on group size.

How many Zip Lines are included?

We offer 10 Zip Lines and 4 Sky Bridges— the range in length, height, speed etc… See Course Info for more info.

All ages are welcome to join our tour. Guests must weigh between 40 and 275 pounds. We have an on-site scale, and if there is any question, we will confirm your weight. If you exceed our weight restrictions, you will not be allowed to ride the zip lines.

Do I need prior experience with Zip Lines?

No prior experience is required! In fact, most of our guests are first-time zipliners.  We place a strict emphasis on safety, and will give you all of the instructions you need to feel comfortable before starting your tour. You will find that any apprehensions will quickly be replaced by a strong sense of accomplishment. However, if you are unable to complete the course for any reason, you may take the path back to the sales office. We do not offer refunds if you choose not to continue.

So what does the tour include?

Departing from the Skyward Adventure office, you will enjoy a moderate hike to the take-off of the first zip. Your guide will offer insights into the parks natural features and will guide you at your desired speed. Two expert zip line guides will accompany you throughout the tour, and you will be thoroughly oriented and equipped to begin your journey. You will zip all the way back to the beginning, ending at the sales office. See Course Info for full details.

What are your policies regarding reservations and cancellations?

What if I show up late?

Similar to movie tickets and plane tickets, we do not give refunds for late arrivals.  We will try our best to put you on a later flight, but it is not guaranteed.  We recommend showing up 15-20 minutes early for your tour.

What are your policies regarding zip lining while pregnant?

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably and plan for the forecasted weather conditions. We recommend wearing layers, as the temperature can change during your visit depending on the season. Appropriate attire includes long or short-sleeve t-shirts, shorts or long pants, and close-fitting sweaters or jackets. Loose, flowing attire such as skirts and dresses are not recommended. Closed-toed, securely strapped shoes are required. No open-toed sandals are allowed. Light hiking boots or rugged tennis shoes are best suited for our terrain. Long hair should be tied back, and any dangling jewelry should be removed prior to embarking. Glasses and sunglasses should be tucked away or secured with a strap.

Are cameras allowed on the tour?

You may bring a camera and take photos during your tour as long as the camera is small enough to fit in your pocket or a pouch. Skyward Adventures is not responsible for lost or dropped items.

I don’t think I want to zip line, but can I Walk and Take Photos?

Yes. You will be able to watch the zipliners from the bottom of the lines. Any “walkers” will be required to fill out a Waiver Release Form prior to entering the trails.

How "in shape" do I need to be in to participate?

You will need to be able to walk the trail to the first zip and from there short distances on uneven ground.  Our zip lines do most of the work and require minimal physical exertion.

Are children permitted to take the zip line tour?

Minors ages 13 and up may take the zip line tour unaccompanied, provided that they have a waiver filled out by their legal guardian beforehand. Younger children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Do you have bathrooms on site?

Yes, we have portable restrooms on site.  We recommend using the restroom prior to the start of your tour as we do not have restrooms available on the course itself.

Do you have concessions?

Yes, our sales office has drinks and snacks available.  For meals, we are located across the street from Pizza King.
